Strong Performance by West Bromwich 2nd XI's

Posted by Steve Bavington on 30 September 2017

West Bromwich Mens 2nd XI's put in a good shift today, keeping their shape well and battling to the end. Unfortunately a youthful Aldridge and Walsall side managed to slot 3 goals past a valiant Richard Jane.

The friendly match involving both clubs who count Aston University Recreation Centre as their home pitch ended 3-1 to a strong Aldridge and Walsall side. The only home goal was scored by Neil Fellows who tapped it past the goalkeeper after a long ball into the D from Micky. A notable mention to young Alec who was recruited at the last minute to offer injury cover for Lee Thornton and Jack Reeves.

Despite the loss, there are many encouragements to take away from the match - not least the sense of camaraderie and teamwork, and when it came to keeping their shape.
