Youth Team and Development
WBHC is proud to offer high quality, but fun training and matches for all children aged 8 to 16 years every Saturday morning. We are a low-cost family friendly club which recognises the importance of giving the children and young people an enjoyable, yet competitive atmosphere in which they can develop as a person, and as a hockey player. We have a high regard for player safety and want to see each young member thrive as they grow in confidence and fitness.
The training takes place at clubs home pitch at Aston University Recreation Centre on the outskirts of Walsall, close to J7 of the M6.
The children play friendly matches in the under 16 age group throughout the season, and during the summer. New members of any ability or applicable age are always welcome at any time before or during the season, so please contact Steve Bavington (Youth Development Officer) for further information. We look forward to welcoming you to our club soon.
Young WBHC hockey players can progress through the England Hockey Player Pathway which, due to our involvement at local and regional level gives them the opportunity to move from Sandwell, to the Black Country, to the Midlands Region and beyond.
